So I have got an old laptop that provides been possessed forever fairly very much. I know it's previous but I would nevertheless like to repair it. It emerged with Windows 98 but it offers since been recently upgraded to Windows 2000 Expert about a 10 years ago. It began getting azure screen errors about some hive file mistake or something along those ranges so I forgot about it for a even though. I recently dug it up and I would like to set up XP or sométhing along those lines on it or at minimum obtain it to shoe.
There lies the issue: The CD drive opens and shuts properly and the lighting adobe flash but it doesn't actually perform anything come the period it should inquire to boot to Compact disc (if you've actually set up XP on a Dvd movie/CD). I'meters completely dropped here and I have no idea what I can do at this stage. Is certainly anyone familiar with this model or collection of notebooks?
It has been decent for it's period I think so I'd still like to get it up and running simply for fun. I'm not really worried about the data that's i9000 on it; I simply desire to install XP or sométhing (yes my disk will be bootable and éverything). I've attempted a number of old operating techniques, including Home windows XP SP2, Home windows 98, and some older floppies for 2. None of them of them boot (not really even the MS-DOS floppy boot disc). What should I do? I have completely no concept what this laptop computer is certainly, but possess you attempted heading into your bios and check for the boot device purchase? Make sure it is usually set to boot on Compact disc/Floppy/Whateveryouwant first.
There are three options, here they are in the purchase I've chosen: 1. MultiBay (I assume this is usually the Compact disc/DVD drive) 2. Floppy Drive 3. Hard Disk I put on't know what the problem is. Regrettably I cannot get into an OS to check out if the information from the Dvd movie drive is certainly even operating, so probably something's wrong with the connection?
